What exactly is Brown's Gas?

Brown's Gas is a blend of hydrogen and oxygen gases. It is frequently contrasted with hydrogen therapy due to their shared hydrogen content, though Brown's Gas contains a significantly higher proportion of hydrogen (66%) than oxygen (33%). This gas is also referred to as HHO (Hydroxy Gas).

How did it come into existence?

Brown's Gas was initially developed by a Bulgarian engineer named Ilya Velbov. Upon relocating to Australia, he adopted the name Yull Brown, which is how the gas earned its name, "Brown's Gas." He dedicated 30 years to studying water electrolysis—the method employed to produce Brown's Gas.

How is it produced?

The production begins with water electrolysis, a process that splits water (H₂O) into its two primary components: hydrogen and oxygen. Here’s a breakdown of how it operates:

1.Electrolyzer Setup: A specialized device called an electrolyzer is employed. It features two electrodes (one positive and one negative) submerged in a solution of water mixed with a catalyst (such as baking soda or potassium hydroxide).

2.Electric Current: When electrical energy is passed through the solution, hydrogen bubbles form at the negative electrode (cathode), while oxygen bubbles emerge at the positive electrode (anode).

3.Separation: A membrane (similar to a thin plastic sheet) maintains separation between the hydrogen and oxygen gases. This enables them to combine in a precise ratio (2:1 hydrogen to oxygen) to generate Brown’s Gas.
